Is it Legal for Civilians to Buy Body Armor?
_ Can civilians buy body armor for themselves? If not, is there a law that tells them
otherwise? There are so many questions pointing to this. Let’s explore more.
Self-defense as defined by Webster is a means of defending oneself from any harm or threat that may occur. You can defend yourself, your property or another person’s well-being and it will always be in the realm of self-defense. Body armors are the usual tools that people use for self-defense. But the question is, if you are not part of the army or police of your region, can civilians, like you (if you are) still able to buy body armor? Some states in USA do not prohibit people from buying or selling body armors to civilians. However, just like in any other law there are “buts” and “ifs”. The regulations of body armor states that those people who have criminal background cannot own or purchase or possess body armor unless the employer or another employee (if the person has no supervisor) of that person can certify in writing that the body armor is required “for the safe performance of lawful business activity". Furthermore, the body armor shall only be used on the activities mentioned. However, to be better sure that you have the license to buy body armors, it is best to consult or know more information regarding the laws on purchasing body armors in your state or country so as to avoid any hassles in the near future. This will also make sure that do not get questioned by the authorities. It is better to be informed ahead before buying body armors. So can civilians buy body armor?
